# SoundLab AI > SoundLab AI (createmusic.net) is an AI music generation platform. Users describe a song — mood, genre, or full lyrics — and get back complete, playable tracks in seconds. Each generation produces two unique variations. The platform includes a full AI editing suite, custom voice cloning, AI cover art, community discovery feeds, and 24/7 AI radio stations. Available on the web and as an Android app. Key facts: - Song generation costs 10 credits and returns 2 variations. New accounts get 10 free credits (first song free, no credit card required). - Pro subscription: £2.49/week (150 credits) or £7.99/month (600 credits). You can either sign in to an existing account or create a new one. ### Sign in with email 1. Go to [https://createmusic.net/login](https://createmusic.net/login) 2. Enter your **Email** and **Password** 3. Click **Sign In** Password requirement: at least 6 characters. ### Sign in with Google 1. On the login page, click **Continue with Google** 2. Choose your Google account in the picker that appears 3. You'll be signed in automatically ### Create a new account 1. On the login page, click **Don't have an account? Sign up** 2. The sidebar is always visible on desktop and collapses to a **hamburger menu** on mobile browsers. ### Sidebar layout The sidebar is divided into several sections. The generated lyrics drop straight into your song so you can generate the music in the next step. ### Where to find it On the **Generate Music** page ([/generate](https://createmusic.net/generate)) in **Custom mode**, with **vocals enabled**. Look for the **Auto Generate Lyrics** button below the lyrics text field. > Not seeing it? You're probably in Easy mode (the button only appears in Custom mode) or have vocals turned off. Switch to **Custom** and make sure the **Vocals** toggle is on. ### How to use it 1. Click **Create** in the sidebar to open the Generate Music page 2. Switch to **Custom** mode 3. Make sure **Vocals** are **on** (the toggle should be enabled) 4. Click the **Auto Generate Lyrics** button below the lyrics field 5. In the modal that appears, fill in: - **Song Description** *(required)* — *e.g. "A love song about summer nights and dancing under the stars"* - **Genre** *(optional)* — *e.g. "Pop, R&B, upbeat"* - **Mood** *(optional)* — *e.g. "Romantic, dreamy"* 6. Click **Generate Lyrics** 7. You'll see a loading spinner while lyrics are generated 8. When done, the lyrics appear in your **Lyrics** field, formatted with `[Verse]`, `[Chorus]`, etc. 9. Edit them if you want, then click **Generate** to create the song ### Cost - The AI Lyrics generator is **free to use** for Pro subscribers — it doesn't cost any credits. - Generating the song itself still costs **10 credits**. ### Requirements - **Pro subscription** — this is a Pro feature Free users clicking **Auto Generate Lyrics** will see an upgrade prompt. See [Upgrade to Pro](../07-subscription-and-credits/upgrade-to-pro.md). ### Tips for better generated lyrics - Be specific about the **subject** (who or what is the song about) - Mention the **emotion or perspective** (heartbroken, nostalgic, defiant, hopeful) - Hint at a **setting** if it matters (summer, city at night, road trip) - The **Genre** and **Mood** fields shape the vocabulary and rhyme style — *"hip-hop, gritty"* produces different lyrics from *"folk, gentle"* ### Want to write lyrics yourself instead? You can pick which one creates your song using the **model selector dropdown** on the **Generate Music** page. ### The models #### SL v3.5 — *"Smarter, faster and improved vocals"* - Newest model, best overall quality - Better vocal clarity and faster generation - **Pro only** — displayed with a gold colour and a lock icon for free users - Default for Pro users #### SL v3 — *"Authentic vocals, superior audio quality and control"* - The previous flagship; still excellent for vocal-heavy songs - Available to **all users** - Default for Free users #### SL v2.5+ — *"Advanced creation methods"* - Good for experimenting with unusual styles - Available to all users #### SL v2.5a — *"Best for variety"* - Strong on stylistic variety across genres - Available to all users ### Which model should you pick? - **Just starting out?** Stick with the default (SL v3 for free users, SL v3.5 for Pro). - **Want the best quality?** Use SL v3.5 (Pro). - **Songs with prominent vocals?** Try SL v3 or SL v3.5 — both have strong vocal performance. - **Experimental / unusual sounds?** Try SL v2.5+ or SL v2.5a. - **Re-generating to see different takes?** Try the same prompt across two different models — the same lyrics can sound very different across SL v3 and SL v3.5. ### How to switch model 1. Click **Create** in the sidebar to open the Generate Music page 2. Click the **model selector dropdown** on the page 3. Pick a model from the list 4. Generate as usual Pro-only models (SL v3.5) show a **lock icon** for free users. Clicking a locked model opens an upgrade prompt. See [Upgrade to Pro](../07-subscription-and-credits/upgrade-to-pro.md). ### Character limits per model All models share the same character limits in Custom mode: - Style: 1000 characters - Lyrics / description: 5000 characters In Easy mode, the description field is capped at 500 characters regardless of model. ## Create your first song The fastest way to make a song is **Easy mode**. You describe what you want in one box and SoundLab AI handles the rest. ### Steps 1. Click **Create** in the sidebar (the gradient-coloured button). This opens the **Generate Music** page at [/generate](https://createmusic.net/generate). 2. Make sure you're on **Easy** mode (toggle buttons at the top of the page — Easy is the default). 3. In the **Song description** box, type what you want. Examples: - *"An upbeat summer pop song about driving with the windows down"* - *"A sad acoustic ballad about missing someone"* - *"Energetic EDM drop with female vocals"* 4. *(Optional)* Click any of the **inspiration tags** below the description (EDM, Sad, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Lo-fi, Upbeat, etc.) to append a style cue. See [Inspiration tags](inspiration-tags.md). 5. *(Optional)* Turn on the **Instrumental** toggle if you want a song with no vocals. Otherwise, choose **Female** or **Male** vocals (Female is the default). 6. Click **Generate** at the bottom of the page. ### What happens next - The page shows a loading indicator: *"Generating your music... This may take a minute"* - You're taken back to the Home page - You'll see a message: *"Music generation started!"* - When the song is ready (usually 30 seconds to 2 minutes), you'll see a notification in the **Notifications** section (bell icon in the sidebar) - Click the notification to open the new song, or find it under **My Library** in the sidebar ### Cost Generating a song costs **10 credits**. You can purchase more credits or upgrade to Pro from the **Billing** page in the sidebar. Click **Create** in the sidebar to open the **Generate Music** page at [/generate](https://createmusic.net/generate) 2. At the top, click the **Custom** toggle button (next to **Easy**) ### The fields #### Title - **Required** in Custom mode - Placeholder: *"Give your song a name..."* - Up to **80 characters** #### Style - Optional - Placeholder: *"e.g. Upbeat pop, dreamy synths, energetic drums..."* - Up to **1000 characters** - The first 10 **inspiration tags** appear below this field as clickable chips, each with a "+" icon: EDM, Sad, African, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Country, Lo-fi, Upbeat, Dark This is where you describe the *sound* — genre, instruments, mood, production style, BPM cues, references. #### Lyrics (or Description if vocals are off) - Optional but most songs need it - Up to **5000 characters** - Placeholder when vocals are on: ``` Enter your lyrics here... [Verse 1] Your verse lyrics... [Chorus] Your chorus lyrics... ``` - Placeholder when vocals are off: *"Describe the music you want to create..."* **Tip:** Use structure tags like `[Verse 1]`, `[Pre-Chorus]`, `[Chorus]`, `[Bridge]`, `[Outro]` in the lyrics field — the AI uses them to shape the song's arrangement. ##### Auto Generate Lyrics button Below the lyrics field you'll find the **Auto Generate Lyrics** button. Clicking it opens a modal where you can describe your song concept and have AI write the lyrics for you. **Pro only**, needs at least 10 credits. See [AI Lyrics Generator](ai-lyrics-generator.md). #### Vocals section - **Vocals** toggle (turn off for instrumental — the field switches to "Description") - When vocals are on, pick **Female** (default) or **Male** using the voice buttons - **My Voice** button — select a cloned voice (Pro feature). See [Voice cloning](voice-cloning.md). #### Advanced Options (Pro only) Click the **Advanced Options** expandable section to reveal: - **Style Influence** slider (0–100%) — how closely the song should match your style notes - **Weirdness** slider (0–100%) — how unpredictable / experimental the result should be Both are percentage sliders. A **Pro badge** is shown next to the section header. Free users see these sliders locked with a prompt to upgrade. Costs **10 credits** ### Validation messages you might see - *"Please enter lyrics or a description"* — the lyrics field is empty - *"Please enter a title for your song"* — the title field is empty - If credits are too low, a dialog appears explaining how to get more ## Easy mode vs Custom mode The **Generate Music** page has two modes. Click the **Easy / Custom** toggle buttons at the top of the page to switch between them. ### When to use Easy mode Use Easy mode if you want fast results and don't care about fine-tuning. You get **one box** to describe your song and that's it. - One field: **Song description** (up to 500 characters) - Inspiration tags for one-click style cues - Instrumental on/off - Male / Female vocals - Model selector dropdown Easy mode is the default and is what most users should start with. Switching back to Easy will only keep one combined description. If you have specific lyrics you want to keep, stay in Custom mode. ## Inspiration tags Inspiration tags are one-click shortcuts that append a genre or mood word to your prompt. Each tag has a "+" icon and sits below the input fields on the **Generate Music** page. - In **Easy mode**: all 20 tags appear below the **Song description** field - In **Custom mode**: the first 10 tags appear below the **Style** field ### The 20 tags EDM, Sad, African, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Country, Lo-fi, Upbeat, Dark, Chill, Epic, Romantic, Funky, Dreamy, Acoustic, Latin, R&B, Hip Hop, Reggae ### How they work - Click a tag → it's appended to the active text field, comma-separated if there's already content - Click multiple tags to combine styles, e.g. *"Pop, Dreamy, Romantic"* - The tags are just text — you can also type these words yourself or combine them with longer descriptions ### Combining tags well Some combinations work better than others: **Good combinations:** - *"Pop, Upbeat, Romantic"* - *"Lo-fi, Chill, Dreamy"* - *"Hip Hop, Dark, Epic"* - *"Country, Acoustic, Sad"* - *"EDM, Funky, Latin"* **Less effective:** - Too many conflicting tags (e.g. *"Sad, Upbeat, Epic, Chill"* → unclear mood) - Just a single tag with no other context — adding a short description gives much better results ### Pairing tags with descriptions Tags are most useful **on top of** a descriptive prompt, not instead of one. You choose this on the **Generate Music** page before clicking **Generate**. ### How to make an instrumental song 1. Click **Create** in the sidebar to open the Generate Music page 2. In **Easy mode**: turn **on** the **Instrumental** toggle 3. In **Custom mode**: turn **off** the **Vocals** toggle — the lyrics field changes to **Description** 4. Describe the music you want in the text field 5. Click **Generate** When instrumental mode is on, the voice picker (Female / Male) disappears. **Tip:** for instrumentals, focus on instruments, mood, and tempo. Examples: - *"Cinematic orchestral, slow build, dramatic strings, big drums in the second half"* - *"Lo-fi hip-hop, jazz piano, vinyl crackle, chill late-night vibe"* - *"Synthwave, retro 80s, driving bassline, neon"* ### How to make a vocal song 1. Click **Create** in the sidebar 2. In **Easy mode**: leave the **Instrumental** toggle **off** (the default) 3. In **Custom mode**: leave the **Vocals** toggle **on** (the default) 4. Pick the voice: **Female** (default) or **Male** 5. Add your lyrics or description 6. Click **Generate** The AI generates the vocal performance from scratch — including pitch, melody, and delivery — based on your lyrics and style. ### Voice options There are two standard voice settings: - **Female** — default - **Male** Both are AI-generated. Pro users can also click **My Voice** to use a cloned voice. Here's how to write prompts that produce songs you actually want. You can also check out the built-in **Prompting Tips** page in the sidebar at [/prompting-tips](https://createmusic.net/prompting-tips) for additional guidance. ### The four ingredients of a strong prompt 1. **Genre / style** — *pop, hip-hop, lo-fi, country, EDM, synthwave, jazz, folk* 2. **Mood / emotion** — *upbeat, heartbroken, defiant, nostalgic, dreamy, dark* 3. **Subject / story** — what the song is *about* 4. **Sound details** — instruments, tempo, production notes A prompt that hits all four will land far better than one that hits only one or two. ### Examples — weak vs strong Weak: *"A sad song"* Strong: *"A heartbroken acoustic folk song about moving out of a shared apartment, soft fingerpicked guitar, sparse arrangement, female vocals"* Weak: *"EDM"* Strong: *"Festival-ready big-room EDM with a euphoric drop, driving 4-on-the-floor kick, pluck synths, female vocal hook about chasing the sunrise"* Weak: *"Make me a rap song"* Strong: *"Boom-bap hip-hop with a gritty piano loop and dusty drums, confident male vocals about hustling out of a small town"* ### Use song structure tags in lyrics When you write your own lyrics (in Custom mode), wrap sections in tags: ``` [Verse 1] Walking through the rain again Streets are quiet, no one in ... [Pre-Chorus] And I keep telling myself ... [Chorus] We were everything We were nothing at all ... [Bridge] ... [Outro] ... ``` The AI uses these tags to shape arrangement — verses are usually quieter, choruses are bigger, bridges break the pattern. ### Mention instruments explicitly Listing instruments steers the production. Examples: - *"piano-led, no drums"* - *"acoustic guitar, brushed snare, upright bass"* - *"808s, hi-hat rolls, dark synth bass"* - *"strings section, big cinematic drums"* ### Mention tempo and energy Words that work well: *slow burn, mid-tempo, driving, energetic, building, anthemic, intimate, sparse, dense, wall of sound, stripped back.* ### Use references carefully You can say things like *"in the style of 80s synthwave"* or *"reminiscent of acoustic indie"* — but **avoid naming specific real artists**, which can produce poor results or be rejected. ### Match the field to the content In **Custom mode**, split your prompt across the right fields: - **Style:** genre, instruments, production, tempo, mood - **Lyrics:** the actual words (with `[Verse]` / `[Chorus]` tags) - **Title:** the song name Don't dump everything into one field. ### Iterate The first generation is rarely the best. If you don't love it: - Tweak one thing in the prompt and regenerate - Try the same prompt on a different model (see [Choosing an AI model](choosing-an-ai-model.md)) - Try adjusting **Style Influence** or **Weirdness** (Pro). They live in the **Advanced Options** expandable section on the **Generate Music** page in **Custom mode**. ### Where to find them 1. Click **Create** in the sidebar to open the Generate Music page 2. Switch to **Custom** mode 3. Scroll down and click **Advanced Options** to expand the section (marked with a **Pro badge**) 4. The two percentage sliders appear > Free users see the section locked with a prompt to upgrade. See [Upgrade to Pro](../07-subscription-and-credits/upgrade-to-pro.md). ### Style Influence (0--100%) > Tooltip: *"Increase to match more closely to your style."* Controls how strictly the song should match the style notes you wrote. - **Low** (around 20--40%) — looser interpretation, more variety, the AI takes more creative liberty - **Default** (50%) — balanced - **High** (70--100%) — tries hard to nail your specific style description **When to push it high:** when you have a very specific sound in mind and the default generations aren't capturing it. **When to pull it low:** when you're exploring and want surprising results. ### Weirdness (0--100%) > Tooltip: *"The higher the value, the more crazy results."* Controls how experimental / unpredictable the output is. - **Low** (around 20--40%) — safer, more conventional structures and sounds - **Default** (50%) — balanced - **High** (70--100%) — wilder arrangements, more unusual choices **When to push it high:** for experimental tracks, electronic / glitch music, or when you want something genuinely surprising. **When to pull it low:** for clean radio-friendly songs in well-defined genres (mainstream pop, country, classic rock). ### Combining the two | Style | Weirdness | What you get | |---|---|---| | High | Low | Tight adherence to a specific, conventional style | | High | High | Tight to your style cues, but with bold creative choices | | Low | Low | Generic, safe, often the most "average" result | | Low | High | Unpredictable in style and execution — chaos mode | ### Defaults Both sliders default to **50%** for a balanced result. Most users never need to touch them — only reach for them when you've generated a few takes and want more control over the next attempt. ## Voice cloning Voice cloning lets you create a custom AI vocal model from a short recording of your own voice. Once cloned, you can use your voice to generate songs — the AI sings your lyrics in a voice that sounds like you. ### Cost Voice cloning is a **Pro feature** — no credit cost, but requires a Pro subscription. You can have up to **3 cloned voices** at a time. ### Where to find it #### From the sidebar 1. Click **My Voices** in the sidebar (or navigate to [/voices](https://createmusic.net/voices)) 2. Click **Clone a New Voice** #### From the Generate page 1. Click **Create** in the sidebar to open the Generate Music page 2. Switch to **Custom** mode 3. In the Vocals section, click the **My Voice** button 4. If you have no voices yet, you'll be prompted to create one #### New voice wizard Clicking **Clone a New Voice** takes you to the voice creation wizard at [/voices/new](https://createmusic.net/voices/new). ### The cloning wizard The process has five steps: #### Step 1 — Intro A quick overview of how voice cloning works and tips for a good recording. Click **Let's go** to start. #### Step 2 — Voice details Fill in the following: - **Voice name** *(required)* — up to 60 characters, e.g. *"My voice"* - **Style hint** *(optional)* — up to 80 characters, e.g. *"Pop, smooth, female"* - **Singing experience** — pick from **Beginner**, **Intermediate**, **Advanced**, or **Professional**. This helps the AI calibrate the clone. Click **Continue** when ready. #### Step 3 — Record a sample Record **10--30 seconds** of yourself singing or humming. Clean acapella works best — no background music. - Click the microphone to start recording - Click again to stop - Play it back, and re-record if you're not happy - Click **Submit** to continue After you submit, the recording is uploaded and the server starts analysing your voice. #### Step 4 — Record verification phrase The server generates a short phrase for you to read aloud. This verifies that the recorded voice is yours. - Read the phrase displayed on screen into the microphone - If the phrase is tricky, click **Get a new phrase** to get a different one - Click **Submit** after recording #### Step 5 — Processing The server builds your voice model. This step usually takes **a few minutes**. You can close the page and check back later — you'll see a notification in the **Notifications** section (bell icon in the sidebar) when it's done. ### Using your cloned voice Once your voice is ready: 1. Click **Create** in the sidebar to open the Generate Music page 2. Switch to **Custom** mode 3. Click the **My Voice** button (in the Vocals section, next to the Female/Male buttons) 4. Pick your cloned voice from the list 5. Write your lyrics and style, then click **Generate** The generated song will use your custom voice for the vocals. ### Managing voices On the **My Voices** page ([/voices](https://createmusic.net/voices)) you can: - **See status** — each voice card shows whether it's ready, processing, or failed - **Resume** — if a voice is waiting for verification, click it to jump back into the wizard - **Delete** — use the delete button on a voice card. Deletion is permanent. ### Tips for a great clone - **Sing, don't speak** — the AI needs melodic content to model your singing voice. Plain speech produces poor results. - **Record in a quiet room** — background noise, echo, and room reverb all degrade the clone. - **Be consistent** — sing at a comfortable, natural volume throughout the recording. - **Use headphones** — if you're singing along to something, use headphones so the backing track doesn't leak into the mic. ### What if it fails? If the clone fails at any step, you'll see an error screen explaining what went wrong. Open the vocal track by navigating to its detail page at `/song/[songId]` 2. Scroll to the **Edit Song** section and click **Instrumental** 3. A dialog will open with the following field: - **Style / tags** *(required)* — describe the instrumental you want. e.g. *"Jazz piano, Acoustic guitar, Electronic beats..."* 4. Click **Generate** You'll see a confirmation that instrumental generation has started. ### What you get back A new song with the original vocal performance and a freshly generated instrumental underneath. The original is preserved. A dialog will open with the following fields: - **Lyrics or vocal description** *(required)* — paste your lyrics, or describe the vocal style (e.g. *"smooth R&B male vocals, falsetto chorus"*) - **Style** *(optional)* — e.g. *"Jazz, Rock, Electronic..."* to steer the vocal performance 4. Click **Generate** You'll see a confirmation that vocals generation has started. ### What you get back A new song appears in your library with vocals layered onto the original instrumental. The original instrumental stays untouched. Open the song by navigating to its detail page at `/song/[songId]` 2. Scroll to the **Song Settings** section and click **Edit Image** 3. A modal will open with two options: - **Upload from Device** — select an image file from your computer (max **5 MB**) - **Generate with AI** — describe the cover you want ### Generating a cover with AI If you choose **Generate with AI**, you'll see a text prompt field (up to **500 characters**) with a placeholder like: > *"e.g. A neon-lit city skyline at night with musical notes floating in the sky..."* Type a visual description and click Generate. You'll see: > *"Cover image generation started! It will update when ready."* The cover updates automatically once the AI is done — usually within a minute. ### Cost - **Upload from Device**: free - **Generate with AI**: **5 credits** — **free for Pro users** ### Owner only You can only edit covers on songs **you own**. Other users' songs have a fixed cover set by their creator. ### Tips for good AI covers - Describe the **scene** clearly (*"sunset over an empty highway"*, *"close-up of a vintage cassette tape"*) - Mention **style** (*"watercolor"*, *"neon synthwave"*, *"realistic photo"*, *"minimal line art"*) - Mention **colour palette** (*"dark moody blues and purples"*, *"warm orange and pink"*) - Keep it visual — avoid abstract concepts ### On success You'll see: *"Cover image updated!"* and the new artwork appears immediately on the song everywhere it's shown (Library, Profile, Home page, etc.). ### See also - [Find your songs](../04-library-organization/find-your-songs.md) ## Extend a song Extend adds new sections to the end of an existing song — same vibe, same vocals, more music. ### How to extend 1. Open the song you want to extend by navigating to its detail page at `/song/[songId]` 2. Scroll to the **Edit Song** section — you'll see action buttons including **Extend**, **Replace Section**, **Add Vocals**, **Instrumental**, **Separate**, and **Remaster** 3. Click **Extend** 4. You will be redirected to your **My Library** page at [/library](/library) where the new extended song will appear once processing is complete You'll see a confirmation message and the extended song will appear in your library when ready. ### What you get back The extended song appears as a **new entry** in your library — your original is not overwritten. You'll receive an in-app notification (check the bell icon or visit [/notifications](/notifications)) when it's ready. ### Cost Extending counts as a generation. Costs **10 credits** (free for Unlimited users). ### When to use it - You like your song but it ends too quickly - You want to add another chorus or a bridge - You want a longer outro / fadeout - The first generation cut off mid-thought ### Tips - Using structure tags in your extension lyrics (`[Bridge]`, `[Final Chorus]`, `[Outro]`) helps the AI shape the arrangement - The extension blends with the existing song's vocals and instrumentation — keep the style consistent - For drastically different new sections, you may get better results by generating a fresh song instead ### Owner vs others - You can always extend **your own** songs - You can extend **someone else's** song only if they've turned on **Allow Remix** for that song. See [Make songs public or private](../04-library-organization/make-songs-public-or-private.md). ## Remaster a song Remaster runs your song through studio-grade mastering — better loudness, clarity, balance and a more polished, release-ready sound. ### How to remaster 1. Open the song you want to remaster by navigating to its detail page at `/song/[songId]` 2. Scroll to the **Edit Song** section and click **Remaster** 3. A modal will open with: - **Genre picker** *(required)* — choose the genre that best matches your song. Available genres: Pop, EDM, Rock, Funk, Rap, Folk, Metal, Jazz, Country. The master is tuned to genre-typical loudness and tone. - **Replace original** checkbox — check this to overwrite the original instead of creating a new version 4. Click to start You'll see a confirmation that remastering has started. You'll receive an in-app notification when it's done. ### What you get back By default, a **new version** of the song appears in your library so you can A/B the remaster against the original. If you checked **Replace original**, the original is overwritten. ### Cost **10 credits**. ### When to use it - Before distributing a song to streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music etc.) - When a song sounds quieter than your other tracks - When the mix feels muddy or unbalanced - For any track you'd describe as "almost there but needs polish" ### Tips - Pick the **most accurate genre** in the picker — a country master is voiced very differently from a hip-hop master - A remaster won't fix structural issues (a weak chorus, wrong tempo, etc.) — for those, use [Replace a section](replace-a-section.md) instead - Don't remaster repeatedly — once is enough. Multiple passes can make a track sound over-compressed. ### See also - [Replace a section](replace-a-section.md) — for fixing structural issues rather than audio quality ## Replace a section of a song Replace lets you swap out a part of a song — for example, redo the bridge, fix a weak verse, or change the chorus — while keeping the rest intact. ### How to replace a section 1. Open the song you want to edit by navigating to its detail page at `/song/[songId]` 2. Scroll to the **Edit Song** section and click **Replace Section** 3. A modal will open with the following fields: - **Start / End time range sliders** — drag to select the section you want to replace - **Replacement prompt** *(required)* — describe what the new section should sound like or say - **Music style** *(optional)* — e.g. "pop, rock, jazz..." to steer the sound - **Full lyrics** *(optional)* — paste full song lyrics if you want to guide the vocal performance 4. Click **Generate** You'll see a confirmation that the section replacement has started. ### Duration constraints - The selected section must be **at least 6 seconds** long - The selected section cannot exceed **50% of the song's total length**, up to a maximum of **60 seconds** ### Minimum song length The song must be **at least 12 seconds long** to use Replace Section. If it's shorter you'll see: *"Song is too short for section replacement (minimum 12 seconds)"* Workaround: **Extend** the song first to push it past 12 seconds, then use Replace Section. ### What you get back A **new entry** appears in your library with the replaced section — your original song is preserved. You'll receive an in-app notification when processing is complete. ### Cost Counts as a generation. **10 credits** (free for Unlimited). ### When to use it - The chorus isn't catchy enough — describe a stronger one - The vocals stumble in one part — redo that section - You want to swap a verse's lyrics - You want a different bridge ### Tips - Use the time range sliders to precisely select the section you want to replace - Describe the *new section* clearly, not the whole song - Mention where in the song the replacement should sit if it's not obvious (e.g. *"Final chorus, big and triumphant"*) - Keeping the style description consistent with the original helps the replacement blend in ### Owner vs others - You can always replace sections in **your own** songs - You can replace sections in **someone else's** song only if **Allow Remix** is on for that song. You end up with **two new songs** in your library. ### How to separate 1. Open the song you want to split by navigating to its detail page at `/song/[songId]` 2. Scroll to the **Edit Song** section and click **Separate** 3. A confirmation dialog appears: - *"Split this track into separate vocals and instrumental stems? This will create 2 new songs in your library."* - For non-Unlimited users, the dialog mentions the credit cost. 4. Click to confirm 5. You'll see a confirmation that vocal separation has started ### What you get back Two new entries in your library: - **[Original title] -- Vocals** - **[Original title] -- Instrumental** Your original song is kept as-is. You'll receive an in-app notification when processing is complete. ### Cost - **10 credits** - **Free for Unlimited users** ### When to use it - You want a karaoke-style instrumental of a song you made - You want to re-mix the vocals with a different instrumental — separate, then use [Add Instrumental](add-instrumental-to-vocals.md) - You want to layer the vocals into another project - You want to study how the AI built up a track ### Limits - Works on songs that have both vocals and instrumentation. A purely instrumental song obviously can't be separated. - Works on songs you own. Open the song by clicking it to navigate to its detail page at `/song/[songId]` 2. On the **song detail page**, click the **playlist icon** 3. A dialog appears showing all your playlists 4. Click the playlist you want to add to 5. The song is added immediately A song can be in multiple playlists. There's no limit on how many songs a playlist can hold. ### Add to an album 1. Open the song (must be a song you own) 2. On the **song detail page**, click the **album icon** (visible only to the song owner) 3. A dialog appears showing all your albums 4. Click the album to add to > Tip: Albums work best for songs you've created — they're meant as releases. Use **playlists** for collecting other creators' songs you like. ### Don't have any playlists or albums yet? The playlist / album dialogs will be empty. Create one first: - [Create a playlist](create-a-playlist.md) - [Create an album](create-an-album.md) ### Remove a song from a playlist or album Inside the playlist or album: 1. Click **Edit** to enter edit mode 2. Click the remove button on the song you want to remove 3. Click done to exit edit mode Removing a song from a playlist or album does **not** delete the song from your library — it's still available everywhere else. ### Reorder 1. Inside the playlist or album, click **Edit** 2. Drag the drag-handle on any song to reorder 3. You can play through them in order or on shuffle. ### How to create a new playlist You can create a new playlist from any song's detail page: 1. Open a song by navigating to its detail page at `/song/[songId]` 2. Click the **playlist icon** on the song detail page 3. In the dialog that appears, you'll see your existing playlists and an option to **create a new playlist** 4. Enter a **Playlist Name** (required) 5. Click **Create** The new playlist is created and the song is added to it. ### How to add songs to a playlist From any song: 1. Open the song by clicking it 2. On the **song detail page**, click the **playlist icon** 3. A dialog appears listing your playlists 4. Click the playlist you want to add the song to You can add a song to multiple playlists. ### How to manage playlists Inside a playlist (click any playlist from your Library's Playlists tab): - **Play All** — play through in order - **Shuffle** — play in random order - **Edit** — enables reorder + remove mode: - Drag songs by their handle to reorder - Click the remove button on a song to take it out of the playlist - **Rename** — click the rename button in the header, edit the name, save - **Delete the playlist** — use the menu to delete (with confirmation) ### Rename a playlist 1. Open the playlist 2. Click the rename button next to the playlist name in the header 3. Enter the new name 4. Save ### Delete a playlist 1. From the **Playlists** tab in My Library, open the playlist 2. Click **Delete** 3. Confirm > Deleting a playlist does **not** delete the songs in it — they stay in your library. ### Empty playlist If a playlist has no songs you'll see: *"No songs in this playlist"*. You can make albums public so other users discover them on the Home page under **Recently Released Albums**. ### How to create an album Albums are viewable at [/albums](/albums). To create a new album: 1. Click **Albums** in the sidebar (or navigate to [/albums](/albums)) 2. Click **Create Album** 3. Fill in the **Create Album** form: - **Album Name** *(required)* — up to **100 characters** - **Album Description** *(optional)* — up to **200 characters** 4. Click **Create Album** You'll see a confirmation: *"Album 'Name' created!"* and the album appears in your albums list. ### How to add a cover image After creating, open the album and use the cover upload or AI cover generator (costs 5 credits, free for Pro). See [Edit cover image](../03-editing-songs/edit-cover-image.md) — albums use the same flow. ### How to add songs to an album From any song you own: 1. Open the song by navigating to its detail page at `/song/[songId]` 2. Click the **album icon** on the song detail page (visible only to the song owner) 3. A dialog appears listing your albums 4. Click the album you want to add the song to You can also use the **Add Songs** button from inside an album to pick from your library. Individual albums are viewable at `/album/[albumId]`. ### Manage an album Inside an album: - **Play All** — play in order - **Shuffle** — play random order - **Edit Mode** — reorder songs by dragging, remove songs - **Rename / edit description** — through the album menu - **Delete album** — through the album menu (with confirmation) ### Make an album public By default, the visibility of an album follows the public/private setting of its songs. Make sure the songs inside it are **Public** if you want others to discover the album. See [Make songs public or private](make-songs-public-or-private.md). Once songs are public, the album can appear on other users' feeds under **Recently Released Albums** on the **Home** page. ### Delete an album 1. Open the album and use the menu to select **Delete Album** 2. All three follow a similar flow, with a confirmation step before the action goes through. ### Delete a song 1. Open the song by navigating to its detail page at `/song/[songId]` 2. Scroll to the **Song Settings** section 3. Click the **Delete Song** button (displayed in red) 4. Confirm in the dialog > Deleting a song removes it from your library and from any playlists or albums it was in. **This is permanent — there's no undo.** If others have liked your song, your version is gone too. ### Delete a playlist 1. Click **My Library** in the sidebar (or navigate to [/library](/library)) 2. Go to the **Playlists** tab and open the playlist you want to delete 3. Click **Delete** 4. Confirm > Deleting a playlist **does not** delete the songs inside it. The songs stay in your library. ### Delete an album 1. Click **Albums** in the sidebar (or navigate to [/albums](/albums)) 2. Open the album and use the menu to select **Delete Album** 3. Confirm > Deleting an album **does not** delete the songs inside it. The songs stay in your library. ### Remove a song from a playlist or album (without deleting the song) If you just want to remove a song from a playlist or album: 1. Open the playlist or album 2. Click **Edit** 3. Click the remove button on the song 4. Click done to exit edit mode The song stays in your library — only its membership in that playlist or album is removed. ### Unlike instead of delete If you want a song you didn't create out of your **Liked Songs**, just click the heart again to unlike it. Liked Songs only contains songs you've hearted — there's no delete operation, just unlike. ### Accidentally deleted something? There is **no undo / recycle bin** for deletions. Be careful with confirmation dialogs. If you delete an important song by accident, see [Contact support](../10-community-and-support/contact-support.md) — recovery may not be possible but it's worth asking. ### Delete your whole account Different flow — see [Delete your account](../06-account-and-profile/delete-your-account.md). ## Find your songs Every song you generate is saved to your account. Here's how to find them on the website. ### My Library page This is the primary place: 1. Click **My Library** in the sidebar (or navigate to [/library](/library)) 2. The Library page has tabs across the top: **Songs**, **Liked Songs**, **Playlists**, **Albums** 3. Your generated songs are listed under the **Songs** tab ### Profile page You can also see your songs on your profile: 1. Click **Profile** in the sidebar (or navigate to [/profile](/profile)) 2. Scroll down to your songs section 3. Each song shows play/pause controls, a like button, share button, and action options This is what other users will see when they visit your public profile — but they'll only see the songs you've made **Public**. ### Home page A shortcut section also appears on the **Home** page at [/home](/home). Click **See All** to jump to your full library. ### Click to play Clicking any song opens the **song detail page** at `/song/[songId]` with the player, comments, edit options, and download / share buttons. ### Edit a song's title or info 1. Open the song 2. On the song detail page, click **Edit Title** to change the title (up to 100 characters) 3. Or expand the **Edit Song Info** section to change the description and streaming links 4. Click **Save Changes** You'll see: *"Title updated!"* (or similar success message). ### Sort / filter The Library page shows songs in reverse chronological order (newest first) by default. Specific sort options (Most Recent, Most Liked, Most Played) appear in album and playlist views. ### Don't see a song you just made? If you just generated a song and don't see it, check: - You should see an in-app notification (bell icon at the top, or visit [/notifications](/notifications)) when generation completes — sometimes it takes a minute or two - Refresh the Library page in your browser - If 10+ minutes have passed and the song hasn't appeared, see [Generation stuck or failed](../09-troubleshooting/generation-stuck-or-failed.md) ## Like and save songs Clicking the heart on any song adds it to your **Liked Songs** — a personal collection that's always accessible from the Library page. ### How to like a song 1. Open the song by clicking it to navigate to its detail page at `/song/[songId]` 2. Click the **heart icon** 3. The heart fills in and the song is added to **Liked Songs** You can also like from many song cards directly using the heart icon next to the play button (no need to open the full song detail page). If you are not logged in and click the heart, you will be redirected to [/login](/login) to sign in first. ### Where Liked Songs lives 1. Click **My Library** in the sidebar (or navigate to [/library](/library)) 2. Click the **Liked Songs** tab 3. You'll see a grid of every song you've liked If you haven't liked anything yet: > *"No liked songs -- Like songs to add them to your library."* ### Unlike a song Click the heart again. The fill is removed and the song disappears from Liked Songs. ### What Liked Songs is good for - Saving community songs you discovered but didn't make - Building a personal favourites list across genres - Quick access to songs you might want to add to a playlist later ### Liked Songs vs Playlists - **Liked Songs** is **automatic** — one click of the heart adds it; no organisation required - **Playlists** are **manual** — you create them and pick what goes in Use Liked Songs for "I like this", and use Playlists for grouping by mood, theme, or use-case. See [Create a playlist](create-a-playlist.md). ### Public visibility Your Liked Songs list is **private to you** by default. Other users can't see what you've liked. Making a song **public** lets other users discover it in the For You feed, Trending, the radio rotation, and on your public profile. ### How to toggle public/private 1. Open the song by navigating to its detail page at `/song/[songId]` 2. Scroll to the **Song Settings** section and find the **Public** toggle (visible only to the owner) 3. Click the toggle When you flip it: - **Public** -- *"Song is now public"* — anyone can discover this song - **Private** -- *"Song is now private"* — only you can see this song ### Allow remix Below the public/private toggle there's an **Allow Remix** toggle. When **on**, other users can run [Extend](../03-editing-songs/extend-a-song.md), [Replace Section](../03-editing-songs/replace-a-section.md), [Add Vocals](../03-editing-songs/add-vocals-to-instrumental.md), [Add Instrumental](../03-editing-songs/add-instrumental-to-vocals.md), and [Separate](../03-editing-songs/separate-vocals-and-instrumental.md) on your song — like remix culture in music. You'll see *"Remix enabled"* or *"Remix disabled"* when you toggle it. > Allow Remix only makes sense when the song is also Public — others can't remix what they can't see. ### What changes when you go Public - The song appears on **your public profile** for others to see - It can show up in **For You**, **Trending**, **radio rotation**, **genre browse**, and **staff picks** - Other users can **Like**, **Comment**, **Share**, and (if Allow Remix is on) remix it - The creator name on the song links back to your public profile ### What changes when you go Private - The song disappears from all public surfaces immediately - Any likes / comments stay on the song but are only visible to you - The song is still in your library, you can still play, edit, and download it ### Bulk visibility There's no bulk "make all songs public" option — each song is toggled individually on its detail page. Click **Discover** in the sidebar (or navigate to [/discover](/discover)) 2. You'll see a category grid with genre cards — each showing the genre name, colour gradient, and song count 3. Click any genre card to open the category page at `/category/[category]` ### What you'll see A category page with: - A coloured gradient header matching the genre's theme - The genre icon and name - A grid of songs in that genre - Infinite scroll — keep scrolling for more ### Playing a song Click any song card to open its detail page with the player. Likes, comments, share, and Add to Playlist / Album work the same as anywhere else. ### Filtering within For You The **For You** page at [/for-you](/for-you) also has a genre filter — horizontal chips at the top with **All Genres**, **Pop**, **EDM**, **Rock**, **Funk**, **Rap**, **Folk**, **Metal**, **Jazz**, **Country**. Click to filter. Click a song you like to open its detail page 2. Click the **creator's name** (just under the title) to open their public profile at `/user/[userId]` 3. Click **Follow** The button changes to **Following** to confirm. You can also follow from a creator's profile if you arrived there by clicking their avatar elsewhere on the website. ### How to unfollow 1. Open the creator's profile (click their name or avatar anywhere) 2. Click **Following** (or **Unfollow**) 3. The button changes back to **Follow** ### See your followers and following On **your own profile** (click **Profile** in the sidebar or navigate to [/profile](/profile)): - Two counts at the top: **Followers** and **Following** - Click either to open the **Follow List** with names, avatars, and follow buttons for each person On **someone else's** public profile at `/user/[userId]`: - Same two counts — click to see who follows them and who they follow ### Why follow creators - New public songs from them surface in your **For You** feed under the **Following Only** filter - You'll get in-app notifications when they release a song you might like - You can keep tabs on your favourite community creators ### Building your own following If you'd like other people to follow you: 1. Make your profile look good — add a photo and display name. See [Edit your profile](../06-account-and-profile/edit-your-profile.md). 2. Make your best songs **Public** so they appear in For You / Trending. See [Make songs public or private](../04-library-organization/make-songs-public-or-private.md). 3. Add streaming links to your profile so listeners can find you on Spotify / Apple Music. Engage with the community — like and comment on songs you enjoy. ### Notifications about your followers When someone follows you, you'll get an in-app notification (*"Started following you"*) in your notifications inbox at [/notifications](/notifications). It's the easiest way to find new music you'll enjoy. You must be logged in to access For You. ### Where it lives Click **For You** in the sidebar (or navigate to [/for-you](/for-you)). You can also find a **For You** section on the **Home** page at [/home](/home) — click **See All** to open the full For You feed. ### Filters at the top The For You page has two filter options: #### Source filter - **All** — recommendations from the whole community - **Following Only** toggle — when enabled, shows only songs from creators you follow #### Genre chips (horizontal scroll) - All Genres, Pop, EDM, Rock, Funk, Rap, Folk, Metal, Jazz, Country Click any chip to filter the feed by that genre. On the song detail page, scroll down to the **Comments** section below the song 2. Click into the input field 3. Type your comment and send You'll see other people's comments above the input. The creator gets a notification when you comment (*"Commented on your song"*). **Replies:** Click a comment to reply to it. Comments support reply threading so you can have conversations under individual comments. ### Share Click the **Share** button on the song detail page. A share menu opens with the following options: - **Twitter/X** — share the song on Twitter/X - **Facebook** — share the song on Facebook - **Reddit** — share the song on Reddit - **Copy Link** — copy the song's URL to your clipboard The shared link opens the song on the SoundLab AI website at [https://createmusic.net](https://createmusic.net). ### On someone else's song vs your own You can like, comment on, and share **any public song**. Each station plays a continuous rotation of community songs in that genre. The "Tune in" feature means everyone listening to the same station hears the same song at the same time. ### The 10 stations Pop, EDM, Rock, Funk, Rap, Folk, Metal, Jazz, Country, Instrumental ### How to find radio 1. Click **Radio** in the sidebar (or navigate to [/radio](/radio)) 2. You'll see all available radio stations 3. Each station has a **LIVE** indicator and shows the number of songs in its rotation Individual stations are accessible at `/radio/[category]`. ### How to listen 1. Click any station card 2. The page shows *"Tuning in..."* briefly 3. The **Radio Player** opens with: - Large station artwork - Genre name and **LIVE** indicator - The current song's title and creator - Player controls (play/pause, skip next, like, share) ### In the radio player - **Play / Pause** — toggle playback - **Skip Next** — advance to the next song in the rotation - **Like** — heart the currently playing song. It's added to your Liked Songs. - **Share** — share the station with friends - **Click song title or artist name** — opens the full song detail page or the creator's public profile ### Live listening Radio stations use a "Tune in" system — everyone tuned into a station hears the same song simultaneously. A live indicator is shown to confirm you're listening in sync with others. ### See all radio stations If you'd rather see all stations in a list: 1. Click **Radio** in the sidebar 2. Click any card to open the song. **Staff Picks** rotates regularly, so check back for new picks. ### Global Trending The top community songs ranked by likes and plays in the **last 4 hours**. - See the trending section on the **Home** page at [/home](/home) - Click **See All** to open the full **Trending** page at [/trending](/trending) - The Trending page shows hot songs and includes **category filter chips** to narrow by genre - Click any song to open and play it > Trending updates frequently — songs that are popular right now bubble up; older ones drop off. ### Best of v3 The top songs created with the newest model, **SL v3**. - Section on the **Home** page - Click **See All** for the full list A good place to hear what SL v3 is capable of before you decide to upgrade to Pro. ### Recently Released Albums Newest community albums. Click **See All** to open the full **Recent Albums** screen. This is **permanent and removes all your data** -- songs, playlists, albums, likes, comments, follows, and your profile. ### How to delete 1. Click **Settings** in the sidebar (or go to [/settings](https://createmusic.net/settings)) 2. Scroll to the **Danger Zone** section 3. Click **Delete Account** 4. A confirmation dialog appears asking you to type `DELETE` to confirm 5. Type **DELETE** exactly as shown 6. Click **Confirm** Your account is deleted and you are redirected to the [login page](https://createmusic.net/login). ### What gets deleted - All your **generated songs** (audio files, metadata, covers) - All your **playlists** and **albums** - All your **likes** and **comments** on songs (yours and others') - Your **profile**, photo, display name, streaming links - Your **follower / following** relationships - Your **credit balance** and **subscription** (cancel the subscription separately if it is recurring -- see below) ### Subscriptions -- cancel separately Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a recurring subscription. - **Web subscribers (Stripe):** Click **Manage Subscription** on the [Billing page](https://createmusic.net/billing) to open the Stripe portal and cancel before deleting your account. See [Credit packs and billing](../07-subscription-and-credits/credit-packs-and-billing.md). - **Mobile subscribers:** If you subscribed via the mobile app, cancel your subscription in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store before deleting your account, or you may continue to be charged. ### This is irreversible There is **no recovery / undelete**. Once you confirm, the data is gone. You can change your display name, bio, and upload a profile photo. ### Open the editor 1. Click **Profile** in the sidebar (or go to [/profile](https://createmusic.net/profile)) 2. Click **Edit Profile** at the top of your profile page The profile switches to edit mode with editable fields. ### What you can change #### Profile photo - Click your photo (or the photo placeholder) to open the file picker - Choose an image from your computer - The image uploads and updates immediately #### Display name - Click into the **Name** field and type your new name #### Bio - Click into the **Bio** field and write a short description about yourself ### Save your changes Click **Save** at the bottom of the edit form. To cancel without saving, click away or navigate to another page without saving. ### What other users see Your **public profile** shows: - Your photo and display name - Account-type badge (Pro badge if applicable -- Free shows no badge) - Followers and Following counts - Your **public songs** displayed in a grid (private songs are not shown) - Your streaming-platform links (if set -- see [Add streaming links to your songs](../08-downloading-and-distribution/add-streaming-links-to-your-songs.md)) People can click **Follow** to follow you. See [Follow creators](../05-discovering-music/follow-creators.md). ### Credits balance Your current credits balance is shown in the sidebar and on the [Billing page](https://createmusic.net/billing). ### Tips - A clear photo helps you build a recognisable identity in the community - Use the same name you use on Spotify / Apple Music so listeners connect the dots - Make at least a few of your best songs **Public** before sharing your profile around. Click it to open the Notifications page, or navigate directly to [/notifications](https://createmusic.net/notifications). ### Notification types You will receive notifications when: - Someone **liked** your song - Someone **commented** on your song - Someone **replied** to your comment - Someone **followed** you - A song **generation completed** successfully - A song **generation failed** - A song **generation timed out** - An **AI cover image** finished generating ### What happens when you click a notification - **Song Liked** -- opens the song - **Song Commented** -- opens the song with comments visible - **Comment Reply** -- opens the song with comments visible - **New Follower** -- opens that user's profile - **Generation Complete** -- opens the new song - **Generation Failed** -- shows error details - **Generation Timeout** -- shows a message about the timeout - **Cover Image Complete** -- opens the song with the new cover ### Managing notifications #### Mark as read - Click an individual notification to mark it as read and navigate to the relevant content - Use the **Mark All as Read** option to clear all unread indicators at once #### Unread indicators - Unread notifications are visually highlighted - The bell icon badge in the sidebar updates to reflect the current unread count #### Empty inbox If you have no notifications, you will see a message: *"No notifications"* ### No push notifications on web The website does not send browser push notifications or email notifications for activity. You can also see your balance on the [Billing page](https://createmusic.net/billing). ### "Not enough credits" If you try a generation without enough credits, a dialog appears explaining your options: > *"You have used all your available credits. Click **Settings** in the sidebar (or go to [/settings](https://createmusic.net/settings)) 2. Find the streaming profile links section 3. Paste your artist URLs into the fields: - **Spotify** - **YouTube Music** - **Apple Music** - **Amazon Music** 4. Click **Save** These links appear on your public profile so listeners can find you on their preferred platform. #### Per-song links (recommended for specific tracks) Each song can have its own set of streaming links -- useful if a particular track has different URLs or is only available on certain platforms. 1. Open the song you want to edit (must be one you own) 2. On the **song detail page**, scroll to the **Song Settings** section 3. Paste the URLs into the streaming link fields: - **Spotify** - **YouTube Music** - **Apple Music** - **Amazon Music** 4. Click **Save Changes** The streaming icons appear on the song's detail page for anyone listening -- click to open in the streaming platform. ### Profile-level vs per-song - **Profile-level:** good for your overall artist presence (your artist page URL on each platform) - **Per-song:** good for specific song URLs (a particular track's link on Spotify, etc.) Most users set both: profile links for the artist pages, per-song links for the specific tracks. ### Where the URLs come from - **Spotify** -- open the song in Spotify, click Share, then Copy Song Link - **Apple Music** -- open the song, click Share, then Copy Link - **YouTube Music** -- open the song, click Share, then Copy Link - **Amazon Music** -- open the song, click Share, then Copy Link For artist-level links (Settings page), use the artist page URL instead of a specific song URL. ### Don't have your song on streaming yet? If you renamed the song, the latest title is used. ### Re-downloading You can download the same song again at any time -- useful if you remastered or extended the song after the first download. Are you on Pro? Downloading is a **Pro feature**. Free users see an upgrade prompt instead of the download buttons. - Check the sidebar -- does your account show a **Pro** badge? - If you just subscribed and it still shows Free, see [Credits and billing issues](credits-and-billing-issues.md). - Want to upgrade? See [Upgrade to Pro](../07-subscription-and-credits/upgrade-to-pro.md). If you subscribed to Unlimited via the mobile app, your Pro/Unlimited status should be reflected on the website. If it is not, try refreshing the page or signing out and back in. ### 2. Is it your own song? You can only download songs **you created**. Other creators' songs cannot be downloaded. If you want to remix someone else's song that has **Allow Remix** enabled, use the **Extend / Replace / Add Vocals / Add Instrumental** options instead -- see the [Editing songs](../03-editing-songs/) section. ### 3. Check your browser's pop-up blocker Some browsers block file downloads as pop-ups. If your download is not starting: - Check for a blocked pop-up notification in your browser's address bar - Add `createmusic.net` to your browser's allowed sites for pop-ups and downloads - Try clicking the download button again ### 4. Check your browser download settings - Make sure your browser is set to allow downloads (some browsers ask where to save each file -- make sure you are not accidentally dismissing that dialog) - Check your browser's download history (usually accessible via Ctrl+J or Cmd+J) to see if the download started but was saved somewhere unexpected ### 5. Try again Sometimes downloads fail because of a temporary network issue. Click the download button again. ### 6. Try the other format If WAV fails, try MP3 (or vice versa). It is a quick way to test whether the file format is the issue. - **Download WAV (Lossless)** -- larger file (~30-50 MB) - **Download MP3 (HQ)** -- smaller file (~3-5 MB) ### 7. Check the [Billing page](https://createmusic.net/billing) -- does it show your active subscription? 3. Make sure you are signed in with the **same account** that you used to purchase 4. If still showing Free after a few minutes, contact support ### I cancelled my subscription but I am being charged Subscription billing on the website is handled by **Stripe**, not SoundLab AI directly. Wait a minute or two -- purchases can take a moment to process 2. Refresh the page to update your balance 3. Check the [Billing page](https://createmusic.net/billing) to confirm the purchase went through 4. If charged but no credits, email **help@klipx.app** with details of when you purchased and the amount. Check the sidebar -- does your account show a **Pro** badge? 2. If it still shows **Free**, see *"I just subscribed but I am still showing as Free"* above 3. If it shows Pro but the prompt still appears, try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache ### I subscribed via the mobile app If you subscribed to Pro or Unlimited via the SoundLab AI mobile app, your subscription is managed through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, not Stripe. Some take longer. Here is how to handle it when it does not come through. ### Normal wait time After clicking **Generate** you will see a confirmation that music generation has started. - **Usually:** under 2 minutes - **Sometimes:** up to 5-10 minutes during high load Active tasks are visible on the generate page while they are in progress. ### Still waiting after 10 minutes? 1. **Refresh the page** -- your song might already be in your library. 2. **Check the Notifications page** -- click the bell icon in the sidebar or go to [/notifications](https://createmusic.net/notifications). Look for a *"Generation failed"* or *"Generation timeout"* notification. 3. **Check your Library** -- go to [/library](https://createmusic.net/library) and look for the new song. The task timeout is **10 minutes**. If a generation has not completed within that window, it will be marked as timed out. ### "Generation failed" notification Click the notification to see error details. Common reasons: - **Prompt was rejected** -- the AI declined to generate (often because the prompt mentioned a real artist by name, contained unsafe content, or was too vague). Try rewriting the prompt and generating again. - **Server-side issue** -- temporary, try again in a few minutes. > If a generation **fails server-side**, your credits should be refunded automatically. If they are not, see [Credits and billing issues](credits-and-billing-issues.md). ### "Generation timeout" notification The song took too long on the server. Your credits should not be deducted for a timed-out generation that did not complete. ### My song appeared but sounds wrong / cut off - Use **Extend** to finish a song that cut off early -- see [Extend a song](../03-editing-songs/extend-a-song.md) - Use **Replace Section** to fix a specific weak part -- see [Replace a section](../03-editing-songs/replace-a-section.md) - Or **regenerate** with a tweaked prompt for a different take ### My song sounds nothing like my prompt Try: - Adding more specifics to the prompt (instruments, mood, tempo). Go to the [Login page](https://createmusic.net/login) 2. Click **Forgot Password?** 3. Enter your email 4. A password reset link is sent to your inbox 5. Open the email and follow the link to set a new password The password reset link directs you to the auth action handler at `/auth/action`. Email not arriving? Check your spam / junk folder. If still nothing after 10 minutes, double-check the email is the one you signed up with. ### "Invalid email or password" Common causes: - Typo in the email or password - Caps Lock on - You signed up using **Google sign-in**, not email/password. Try **Continue with Google** instead. If you genuinely cannot remember which method you used, try **Forgot Password?** first -- if no email arrives, you probably signed up with Google. ### Google sign-in is not working 1. Make sure you have an active internet connection 2. Make sure you are signed into your Google account in your browser 3. If a Google account picker appears, select the correct account 4. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then attempt sign-in again 5. Try a different browser to rule out browser-specific issues ### Email verification After creating a new account, you may need to verify your email address. There are several ways to send them. ### Report a song On any song detail page, if you are not the owner of the song, you will see a **flag icon**. Click it to open the report modal. The report modal includes: - **Reason** -- select from radio button options describing why you are reporting the song - **Comment** (optional) -- add any additional details Click **Submit** to send the report. ### Option 1: Discord (good for discussion + visibility) 1. Post in **#bugs** for issues / glitches 3. Post in **#feedback** or **#feature-requests** for ideas The benefit of Discord: other users can chime in (say "yes, same here" or suggest workarounds), and you can see what has already been reported or promised. ### Option 2: Contact page (good for account-specific bugs) Go to [/contact](https://createmusic.net/contact) and fill in the form, or email **help@klipx.app** -- especially if the bug affects your account, billing, or data, or if you cannot share screenshots publicly. ### How to write a good bug report The most useful reports include: 1. **What you did** -- the exact steps that triggered the bug 2. **What you expected to happen** 3. **What actually happened** 4. **Screenshot or screen recording** if visual 5. **When it happened** (approximate date and time) 6. **Your browser and OS** -- only matters for display / functionality bugs Example: > **What I did:** generated a song in Custom mode with the SL v3.5 model, lyrics about 200 chars, no style set > **What I expected:** song completes in ~2 minutes > **What happened:** stuck on "generating" for 25 minutes, no notification arrived > **When:** today around 14:00 UTC > **Browser:** Chrome 126 on Windows 11 ### How to write a good feature request Lead with the **problem you are trying to solve**, not the implementation you have in mind: > "When I generate songs the chorus is sometimes much longer than the verses and I want more control over the relative section lengths." That helps us design the best solution -- sometimes there is an easier or better fix than the specific feature you had thought of. ### What gets prioritised Bugs that affect billing, account access, or data integrity are highest priority. Then broken core features. Then quality-of-life improvements. Feature requests are weighed by how many users want them and how well they fit the platform's direction. ### We cannot promise to build everything But every report and request gets read.
