Slice of Pie

Lyrics

Intro
A pan in the sink
A crust on the plate
Sweet little smile
Rot under the glaze

Verse 1
You left it on the sill
Warm in the room
Flies in the corner
Circling the fruit

I watched you cut it slow
Thumb on the blade
Every neat little slice
Like a secret you made

Sugar on your lip
Blood in the seam
You said it was comfort
I heard it scream

Pre-Chorus
Open wide
Take the bite
Bite the lie
Spit the light

Come inside
Close that door
Something's hungry
On the floor

Chorus
Apple pie
Bite it down
Apple pie
Rotting sound
Apple pie
On my tongue
Apple pie
We are done

Breakdown
Crack
Crush
Serve it cold
Crack
Crush
Watch it fold

Verse 2
Tin on the counter
Knife by the dish
You called it a blessing
I called it a wish

Steam in the air
Then nothing but gray
Sweet tooth terror
Won't go away

Your hands were shaking
Mine were too
You said "eat up"
I said "who?"

The crust split open
The room went black
Something in the filling
Kept coming back

Pre-Chorus
Open wide
Take the bite
Bite the lie
Spit the light

Come inside
Close that door
Something's hungry
On the floor

Chorus
Apple pie
Bite it down
Apple pie
Rotting sound
Apple pie
On my tongue
Apple pie
We are done

Breakdown
Crack
Crush
Serve it cold
Crack
Crush
Watch it fold

Verse 3
Now the whole house shakes
When the oven hums
Pale little fingers
Tap on the drums

Every slice I save
Turns out to bone
Every sweet little prayer
Comes back alone

I hear your mouth
Behind the wall
Chewing my name
In a fake soft drawl

No more clean hands
No more pure light
Just that red warm shadow
Out of sight

Bridge
Say it again
With your broken mouth
Say it again
Let it leak out

Sweet little thing
With a brutal grin
Open the crust
Let the dark rush in

Final Chorus
Apple pie
Bite it down
Apple pie
Rotting sound
Apple pie
On my tongue
Apple pie
We are done

Apple pie
Choke the night
Apple pie
Wrong delight
Apple pie
Say my name
Apple pie
Stay the same

Outro
A pan in the sink
A crust on the plate
Sweet little smile
Gone to waste
