Hank the Skank
Lyrics
Howdy y'all, just wanted to tell you a little story about some ol' legends that came to mind this morning while I was out and about ridin' fence. Now some of these outlaws are long but gone, and some of course are still kickin' it up like they were ridin' 8 at the county fair. Boy if we can just bring em' back for one more ride, whatta a heck of a time that'd be. And im sure y'all feel the same, that it's not only me.
You see Marty himself was ol' school, sang lot's about Mexico, and Johnny well, he loved to dress up black, and raise some hell you know. Lefty he could play the guitar like somebody was ringing a bell, And ol' George Jones was missing shows, always drunk, you could always tell.
Merle lived high in the mountains, just loved being alone, Waylon and Willie couldn't keep em' apart, out drinkin' and getting stoned. Dolly and Kenny are out on tour, soon they'll be comin' home. While Jessie is waitin' on Waylon, most times she spends all alone.
Bo-see-fus he's in the studio and promoting his new song, KK's out in Hollywood, playin' with monkeys and ol' King Kong, Conway is fishin' out at the lake, and Loretta is cookin' at home, while the gentle giant is drivin' his truck, tryna figure where he went wrong.
John Anderson is front porch swingin', and rollin' up the garden hose, but im sure when he's behind that ol' chicken truck, he sure ain't smellin' a rose, And Toby Kieth is watching football, hoping that his team will win?, he's yellin' out the back door...Don't let the ol' man in.
Now im sure that there's so many more, like Alan Jackson who can forget??....or Travis Tritt and Marty Stewart, at the Opry playin' a set. But my favorite one, is Luke the Drifter, and for him the Lord I thank!!!....we know him as Mr Williams, We'll know by his first name Hank.
He was the lonesome drifter, a cowboy with so much taste, he played his guitar and wrote his songs, like there was no time to waste. He past away one New Years eve in the back of his Cadillac, God rest his soul, what happened that night, we all prayed and wanted him back.
He could yodle all night, and cry till dawn, my favorite was I saw the light, We all knew Mr Horton, something was just not right. Audrey and Johnny got together and for this reason we must thank. Because without this there never would be...Our Hero we know as Hank.
God BLESS you Hank...wherever you are...Hope to hear you soon!!!!
