Butterfly (A Song For My Mom)

Lyrics

Got a six string and amp in good condition.
Got it from my momma as a birthday present.
So I wrote a song about her to give her a new memory she'll never forget.
Cause every time a butterfly passes by
I see her.

Fluttering around the air under blue skies
Flying from place to place
All the way to where the green grass grows.
Flowers blooming under the sun.
As every day passes, time becomes too short.
But momma don't you worry about me.
Cause with every butterfly that passes
I only think of you

Got a call from you.
Calling in sick on Thanksgiving day
You told me that you couldn't make it.
But momma I understand.
Cause I care about you
I just want what's best for you.

I'll make you proud with this guitar in my hands.
Cause I'm your son and I love you as a mother.
And every time a butterfly passes by I see you.

Just fluttering in the wind as a beautiful reminder of nature's wonders.
Soaring under perfect skies to reach for the highest point of your life.
Your happiest moments arrive when I show up to be with family.
Cause believe me when I say it.
You're every butterfly that I see.

Even on the darkest days
You'll still fly higher under the sun.
And when you're gone
I'll still see you fluttering around me
Soaring as a butterfly.

Momma don't you worry about me.
I'll see you where the green grass grows.
Wings fluttering in the breeze.
Through every flower you land on
I see you as a butterfly.

I love you momma cause you're the butterfly that I see.
