Last March Of The Orcs
by Darth Nihlus
Lyrics
[Intro - distant thunder, low cinematic drones, ritual drums, ghostly male choir, shamanic chants echoing through the fog]
A storm was born on the iron plain,
Where the blackened banners fed the flame,
We heard the earth beneath us groan,
As the last march rose from bone to bone.
[Verse 1 - aggressive dark cinematic strings, pounding taiko, guttural shamanic calls, tense low brass]
Through ash and frost, they carved the dawn,
With broken spears and scars worn strong,
Their eyes like coals in cursed red light,
Marching toward the end of night.
Old gods whispered in the smoke,
In every breath, in every oath,
The hills replied with hollow cries,
As wolves of war learned how to die.
[Pre-Chorus - rising choir layers, distorted low chant, tension building, snare rolls and tremolo strings]
Hear the drums of the dying land,
Feel the blood in the frozen sand,
One last oath, one final flame,
We march to remember our name.
[Chorus - massive cinematic choir, aggressive nu metal guitars, crushing 808 hits, thunderous drums, shouted gang vocals]
This is the last march of the orcs,
Born in fire, returned to the dark,
No more chains, no more kings,
Only the sound of a hundred screams.
This is the last march of the orcs,
With the night in our lungs and war in our hearts,
We will fall, we will rise,
As the black sky opens wide.
[Verse 2 - deeper tribal percussion, serrated strings, snarling vocals, ritual chants underneath]
We crossed the fields of shattered stone,
Through the graves the pale wind owns,
Each scar a map, each wound a song,
Of all the places we belonged.
The shamans carved the smoke with ash,
Read the future in the battle clash,
They said the sun would turn to steel,
And only the broken would remain to kneel.
[Pre-Chorus - choir swelling, toms rolling, harsh whispers, cinematic riser]
So let the mountains split and burn,
Let the river of the dead return,
One last oath, one final flame,
We march to remember our name.
[Chorus - full-force, layered screams, choir and guitars doubled, percussive hits like war drums]
This is the last march of the orcs,
Born in fire, returned to the dark,
No more chains, no more kings,
Only the sound of a hundred screams.
This is the last march of the orcs,
With the night in our lungs and war in our hearts,
We will fall, we will rise,
As the black sky opens wide.
[Bridge - stripped back to distant choir, ritual hand drums, whispered chants, mournful strings]
If this is the end, then let it be sung,
Let the old blood remember the young,
In the ruins, in the rain,
Our ghosts will carry the pain.
Not to conquer, not to stay,
Only to fade in a blaze of grey,
And when the silence takes the field,
Our spirit will not yield.
[Final Chorus - even bigger, apocalyptic choir, detuned guitars, blast-like drums, triumphant shamanic ululations]
This is the last march of the orcs,
Born in fire, returned to the dark,
No more chains, no more kings,
Only the sound of a hundred screams.
This is the last march of the orcs,
With the night in our lungs and war in our hearts,
We will fall, we will rise,
As the black sky opens wide.
[Outro - fading choir, distant war horns, echoing chants, strings dissolving into wind]
Last march... last march...
Through ash... through stone...
Last march... last march...
We go... we go...
Into the dark... into the dark...
