The Other Side

Lyrics

Sonic (male vocal)
Right here, right now,
I’ve got a plan somehow—
I’m not gonna chase you down,
I know you feel it.
You run with me,
And I can help you see
Past all the rules and walls they keep you in

Trade the usual for something colorful,
And if it’s wild, hey, a little fun is joyful!
You can play it careful, follow every normal rule,
Or you can try it out and see

Don’t you wanna get away
From the same old part you always play?
I’ve got what you need,
So come with me and take the ride—
We’ll head over to the other side
You can stay how you stay,
Or you can try my way—
Stay in the room, or you finally take the key
Oh wow! Suddenly you’re free to fly,
We’re heading to the other side!

Zora (female vocal)
Okay, my friend, you wanna bring me in,
But I gotta tell you, that’s not how I’m livin’
So thanks, but no—
I think I’m good to go,
’Cause I kinda like the life you say I’m stuck in

I admire you, and the cool things you do,
You’re onto something, really, it’s something
But I work with bots all day, and we don’t chase big hero plots—
Guess I’ll leave that up to you

Don’t you know I’m okay
With this Eggman part I get to play?
I’ve got what I need,
And I don’t wanna take the ride—
I don’t need to see the other side
So go and do like you do,
I’m good to do like me
I’m not in a cage, so I don’t need to take the key
Oh wow! Can’t you see I’m doing fine?
I don’t need to see the other side

Sonic (male vocal)
Is this really how you wanna spend your days?
Orders and plans and all those tricky plays?

Zora (female vocal)
If I teamed up with you, I’d be the talk of the base—
Everyone would stare, saying I’m out of place!

Sonic (male vocal)
But you could laugh a little, live a little,
Let me show you dreams that feel so simple
Wake you up and stop the aching,
Break the walls that keep you waiting
Now that’s a deal that’s worth the taking—
But I’ll leave that up to you

Zora (female vocal)
It’s tempting, sure, but leaving would cost me greatly—
So what percent of the team would you be giving safely?

Sonic (male vocal)
Fair enough, you want a piece of all the action—
I’d give you seven, we could shake and make it happen

Zora (female vocal)
I wasn’t born this morning—eighteen sounds just fine

Sonic (male vocal)
Why not go ahead and ask for nickels on the dime?

Zora (female vocal)
Fifteen

Sonic (male vocal)
Eight

Zora (female vocal)
Twelve

Sonic (male vocal)
Nine

Zora (female vocal)
Ten!

Sonic & Zora (male and female vocals)
Don’t you wanna get away
To a whole new part you’re gonna play?
I’ve got what you need,
So come with me and take the ride
To the other side.
If you do like I do,
If you do like me,
Forget the cage—
We know how to make the key.
Oh wow! Suddenly we’re free to fly,
We’re going to the other side!
If you do like I do—
(To the other side!)
If you do like me—
(We’re going to the other side!)
If we both do, we’re going to the other side—
We’re going to the other side
