Throne of Flames

Lyrics

Intro
Hush now
The choir holds its breath

Verse 1
I wore white for the funeral
Then I stained it with gold
They prayed over my shadow
But I never got told

On the chapel floor
I learned my name
Not saint, not bride
Just flame

Pre-Chorus
Angels kneel
Devils rise
I see both
In my eyes

The bells all crack
The candles bend
Holy war
Won't ever end

Chorus
She's a devil
(She's a devil)
She's a devil in the light

Angels falter
(Angels falter)
When she smiles at the fight

Holy war
Holy war
I was born to take the throne

She's a devil
(She's a devil)
And heaven knows I'm gone

Verse 2
Quiet strings
In a blood-red room
My hands stay still
Then I bloom

Every vow
That they threw at me
Turned to dust
At my feet

I don't need
Their mercy song
I learned how to make
The weak feel strong

Pre-Chorus
Angels kneel
Devils rise
I see both
In my eyes

The bells all crack
The candles bend
Holy war
Won't ever end

Chorus
She's a devil
(She's a devil)
She's a devil in the light

Angels falter
(Angels falter)
When she smiles at the fight

Holy war
Holy war
I was born to take the throne

She's a devil
(She's a devil)
And heaven knows I'm gone

Bridge
Strings swell
If I'm cursed
Then call me crowned

If I'm damned
I'll wear it loud

Whispered female doubles
Hush, hush
Watch me burn

Hush, hush
Watch me turn

Breakdown
Kneel
No

Pray
No

I split the dawn
With a broken halo

Kneel
No

Pray
No

She's a devil
And I told you so

Final Chorus
She's a devil
(She's a devil)
She's a devil in the light

Angels falter
(Angels falter)
When she smiles at the fight

Holy war
Holy war
I was born to take the throne

She's a devil
(She's a devil)
And heaven knows I'm gone

Outro
Hush now
The choir holds its breath
And I
Keep the ash that’s left
