ME, MYSELF AND I- THE BEGINNING
by MARAKANSKY
Lyrics
INTRO — OPERA
Three voices. one skull. one life.
THE DREAMER
I still see the light, even when the whole damn sky turns black.
THE REBEL
Oh, shut the hell up.
THE JUDGE
Enough. Let them speak.
[BEAT DROPS — DARK 90s HIP-HOP + ORCHESTRA]
THE DREAMER
I was born with a head full of impossible dreams,
Building castles from dust, stitching holes in my seams.
Mama said, "Don't let this cold world change you,"
But the world came swinging like it had something to prove.
I learned love can bleed, learned trust can betray,
Learned yesterday's promise can die by today.
Still I walk with a fire that refuses to drown,
Even when every damn road keeps dragging me down.
THE REBEL
Beautiful? Man, that's bullshit.
You keep dressing pain in poetry like that makes it hurt less.
THE DREAMER
What?
THE REBEL
I've been sleeping with wolves, I don't need your fairytales.
Everybody smiles till they need something from you,
Then disappears quick when the motherfuckers are through.
"Trust me." Yeah, I've heard that shit before.
Usually means somebody's about to walk through your door
And take what they can, leave you bleeding on the floor.
Hell yeah, I remember every scar.
Every fake-ass friend. Every night I asked why we're still breathing.
I don't need sympathy. Keep that shit in your pocket.
I kicked pain through the door when it came knocking.
You want respect? Earn it. You want love? Prove it.
THE JUDGE
Interesting.
You both speak as if suffering makes you right.
THE REBEL
And you speak like a damn textbook.
THE JUDGE
Because somebody has to think before we destroy ourselves.
You call every wound a badge, every mistake destiny.
We trusted wrong people. We became wrong people.
Built walls so high we couldn't see beyond them.
We chased temporary pleasure and called consequence bad luck.
Pain isn't proof that you're alive.
Survival isn't victory if you never learn to thrive.
A man can blame every disaster until the mirror whispers:
"Maybe you were fighting yourself."
THE REBEL
Don't put that shit on me.
THE JUDGE
Why not?
THE REBEL
Because I know what I've survived.
THE JUDGE
And I know what you've become.
Silence
THE DREAMER
Maybe you're both right.
I'm sick of running.
THE REBEL
I'm sick of pretending I don't care.
THE JUDGE
And I'm sick of watching us waste another year.
THREE VOICES — OVERLAPPING
[THE DREAMER] I want tomorrow!
[THE REBEL] Fuck tomorrow!
[THE JUDGE] Tomorrow is irrelevant.
[THE DREAMER] I want another chance!
[THE REBEL] I don't trust a damn soul!
[THE JUDGE] Trust is earned.
[THE DREAMER] I still believe!
[THE REBEL] I don't believe shit!
[THE JUDGE] Then believe in action.
ALL THREE
THREE MEN. ONE BODY. ONE FUCKING LIFE.
HOOK
We're three men in one,
One heart underneath the damage,
One running from the past,
One still chasing something savage.
One wants peace, one wants war,
One asks what the hell we're fighting for.
Three voices in my head, three shadows when I run,
Three different roads, but they lead beneath the same sun.
If this life is a battle, then let the battle come,
'Cause I'm done dying slowly from the war of three men in one.
THE REBEL
I ain't asking for forgiveness from nobody anymore.
I've been crawling through hell with my fists through the floor.
I've been the villain, the asshole, the fool addicted to pain.
Fuck being perfect. Perfect people ain't real.
Give me somebody with scars who knows how to feel.
I don't need a halo. I need room to breathe.
Look at the worst in me and don't pretend you don't see.
THE DREAMER
Then let me dream one more time,
Let me climb one more hill.
Maybe there's a reason I'm breathing still.
Maybe home ain't a place. Maybe home is the fight.
I've lost people, lost years, swallowed pride, laughed with a broken heart.
But I'm still here. ... I'm still here.
Maybe that's enough to make tomorrow worth the fear.
THE JUDGE
No. It's not enough.
THE DREAMER
Then what is?
THE JUDGE
Choice.
Every morning you wake, you choose what survives:
The wound or the man who carries it.
The hatred or the lesson beneath it.
The past or whatever comes next.
THE REBEL
So what? We forgive ourselves and walk away?
THE JUDGE
No. We remember.
We simply refuse to remain prisoners of it.
FINAL HOOK — OPERA + HARD DRUMS
ALL THREE
We're three men in one,
One heart underneath the damage,
One born to dream, one born to fight,
One trying to understand it.
We've been lost, we've been cold,
We've been young, we've grown old,
We've been broken by the stories that we never fucking told.
Three voices in my head, but tonight they speak as one.
Three shadows still staring at the sun.
If tomorrow wants a war, then tomorrow better come,
'Cause I'm done dying slowly from the war of three men in one.
THE REBEL — QUIET
I still don't trust anybody.
THE DREAMER
Neither do I.
THE JUDGE
Then start by trusting yourself.
THE REBEL
...Damn.
THE DREAMER
Maybe we finally got somewhere.
THE JUDGE
Maybe.
OPERA CHOIR
Three men...
One dream...
One fight
