Christ Is King

Lyrics

Verse 1
I was walking through the darkness, searching for a light,
Trying to find the answers in the middle of the night.
Every road I traveled left me empty and alone,
Till I heard the voice of mercy calling me back home.
You carried all my burdens, You broke every chain,
You took the crown of thorns and bore my sin and shame.
Now my heart is singing louder than it's ever been,
For the Savior of the world has washed me clean within.
Pre-Chorus
From the grave You rose in glory,
Death could never hold You down.
Every nation, every people,
One day will proclaim aloud:
Chorus
Jesus Christ is King, forever He will reign,
The Alpha and Omega, yesterday the same.
Every knee will bow, every tongue will sing,
Glory, hallelujah, Jesus Christ is King.
Through the storm and fire, through the suffering,
My hope is in the Savior, Jesus Christ is King.
Verse 2
When the mountains stand before me and the valleys seem so deep,
When the tears are falling softly and I struggle just to sleep,
You remind me of Your promise, that You'll never let me go,
And Your love shines brighter than the darkest night I know.
You are faithful through the ages, You're the Shepherd of my soul,
You're the Living Water flowing, making broken people whole.
Every breath You've given me is another song to bring,
To the Lamb upon the throne, my Lord and King.
Bridge
King of kings and Lord of lords,
You're worthy forevermore.
Heaven's armies lift Your name,
All creation does the same.
You conquered death, You set us free,
Now we live in victory.
Lift Him high, let the church sing,
Jesus Christ is King!
Bridge (Repeat)
King of kings and Lord of lords,
You're worthy forevermore.
Heaven's armies lift Your name,
All creation does the same.
You conquered death, You set us free,
Now we live in victory.
Lift Him high, let the church sing,
Jesus Christ is King!
Final Chorus
Jesus Christ is King, forever He will reign,
The Alpha and Omega, yesterday the same.
Every knee will bow, every tongue will sing,
Glory, hallelujah, Jesus Christ is King.
Through eternal ages, heaven's bells will ring,
Praise the risen Savior, Jesus Christ is King.

Forever and forever,
Jesus Christ is King.
