A King's Justice

Lyrics

Verse 1
A father stood before my throne
His voice was steady, worn with years
A soldier stood beside the guard
Awaiting judgment without fear
The truth was plain... The law was broken... Yet my heart refused to bend
For that young soldier once had carried...
My banner...
As a friend.
Pre-Chorus
Mercy...
Has its place.
Justice...
Must have...
One.
Chorus
A KING'S JUSTICE!
The crown must never lie!
The law must stand...
For great and small...
Beneath...
The same...
Sky!
A KING'S JUSTICE!
Heavy as the throne!
A ruler serves...
The truth before...
He serves...
His own.
Verse 2
The sentence fell like winter rain
No joy was found within the hall
The soldier bowed... Accepted quietly... Knowing law protects us all
The father wept... The people watched... No voice was raised in bitter rage
For every soul within the kingdom...
Had witnessed...
Justice...
That day.
Pre-Chorus
Power fades...
Honor stays...
Truth survives...
Our passing days.
Chorus
A KING'S JUSTICE!
No favorites... No disguise!
The strongest king...
Looks every soul...
Straight...
Within...
Their eyes!
A KING'S JUSTICE!
Fairness wears no crown!
A kingdom built...
On equal law...
Can never...
Be torn down!
Bridge
A wise old judge...
Once told me...
"The hardest verdict...
Is the honest one."
"If justice...
Costs you...
Nothing..."
"You've probably...
Judged...
No one."
Final Chorus
A KING'S JUSTICE!
Carry it with pride!
Stand for truth...
When standing hurts...
That's where...
Great rulers...
Rise!
A KING'S JUSTICE!
Let the people know!
The finest kings...
Protect the weak...
Even...
From...
Their own.
Outro
When the hall...
Had emptied...
I remained...
Alone.
Not because...
I doubted...
The judgment.
Because...
I felt...
Its weight.
And that's...
How I knew...
It was just.
