Dark Sisters
by Darth Nihlus
Lyrics
Intro
Down in the glass room
Something knows my name
Shadows in a circle
Breathing just the same
Verse 1
I walked past the mirror
It blinked before I did
Cold lace on the floorboard
A secret under it
Three knocks in the hallway
Soft as fingertips
I saw two pale figures
Smile through stitched-up lips
Pre-Chorus
They say my name slow
Like a spell in the walls
They say my name low
When the black water calls
Hands on my shoulders
Then they fade like smoke
I take one more step
And the ceiling breaks
Chorus
Dark sisters, come close
Dark sisters, come close
(come close)
Dark sisters, hold my throat
Till I don’t know home
Dark sisters, come close
Dark sisters, come close
(come close)
If I go under
Let me go with you
Verse 2
There’s dust in the moonlight
On the edge of your teeth
You keep all my panic
Folded neat beneath
I hear your soft laughter
From the back of my mind
Like a door in a basement
Unlatching behind
Pre-Chorus
They say my name slow
Like a spell in the walls
They say my name low
When the black water calls
Hands on my shoulders
Then they fade like smoke
I take one more step
And the ceiling breaks
Chorus
Dark sisters, come close
Dark sisters, come close
(come close)
Dark sisters, hold my throat
Till I don’t know home
Dark sisters, come close
Dark sisters, come close
(come close)
If I go under
Let me go with you
Breakdown
Tick-tick under skin
Flicker in the glass
I split into pieces
Watching them pass
Say it again
Say it again
(come close)
I’m not afraid
I’m not afraid
I’m not—
Verse 3
Now the room is folding
Like a paper cut
Every hidden doorway
Opens from the gut
I don’t see my shadow
I see yours instead
Trailing like a ribbon
Tied around my head
Bridge
If you’re the night
Then I’m the bruise
If you’re the gate
Then I’m the fuse
Show me the secret
That keeps you alive
I was only drifting
Now I’m learning to dive
Final Chorus
Dark sisters, come close
Dark sisters, come close
(come close)
Dark sisters, hold my throat
Till I don’t know home
Dark sisters, come close
Dark sisters, come close
(come close)
If I go under
Let me go with you
