Open Their Eyes
Lyrics
Verse 1
I crawled out the gutter
Needles in my rearview
Every bad night broke me
Till I saw the truth through
Now I watch the mirror
Like it owed me blood
I know what I survived
I know what I was drugged
Faces in the hallway
Hands with shaking bones
Mothers in the kitchen
Praying over phones
Took too many brothers
Took too many names
One more grave in the dirt
Another life in flames
Pre-Chorus
Now I can see it
Clear as a blade
Every sweet lie
Turns to a cage
I hear the cry
I hear the fall
Lord, let mercy
Break through it all
Chorus
Open their eyes
Open their eyes
Tear through the lie
Open their eyes
Open their eyes
Open their eyes
Save them tonight
Open their eyes
Verse 2
I seen good men hollow
Chasing one more hit
Seen a whole hard family
Turn to broken bits
Seen the young ones laughing
Till the poison bit
Then the cold got quiet
And the house just split
I know that prison
I wore it in my skin
Every chain looked golden
Till it pulled me in
Now I stand in daylight
Burning from the view
All I can do now
Is pray for you
Pre-Chorus
Now I can see it
Clear as a blade
Every sweet lie
Turns to a cage
I hear the cry
I hear the fall
Lord, let mercy
Break through it all
Chorus
Open their eyes
Open their eyes
Tear through the lie
Open their eyes
Open their eyes
Open their eyes
Save them tonight
Open their eyes
Bridge
If hope is a flame
Let it hit like thunder
If shame is a chain
Let it split asunder
I was lost in the dark
Now I know the way
I don’t save a soul
I just kneel and pray
Breakdown
Poison in the promise
Death in the dose
Blind to the cost
Till it takes what you hold
Poison in the promise
Hear the mourning rise
Lord, cut the veil
Open their eyes
Final Chorus
Open their eyes
Open their eyes
Tear through the lie
Open their eyes
Open their eyes
Open their eyes
Save them tonight
Open their eyes
Open their eyes
Open their eyes
From the chain to the sky
Open their eyes
