Pedestal of Spirits

Lyrics

Verse 1
A sword in the lake
Held up by the dark
Waiting for a hand
Waiting for a spark

Silver on the still water
Cold in the dawn
It knows your name
Before you're born

Pre-Chorus
When the shore goes quiet
And the reeds lean low
It starts to sing
Only you can know

Chorus
Take the blade, take the blade
Lead me through the grey
Take the blade, take the blade
Show me where to stay
(Where to stay)
When your bones grow tired
And your fire turns thin
I'll join your spirit
Then return again

Verse 2
It guards your road
Through the ash and rain
Cuts through doubt
Takes away your pain

It does not hunger
It does not kneel
It only seeks
The one who's real

Pre-Chorus
So lift it slow
Let the water part
A little light
Can wake the heart

Chorus
Take the blade, take the blade
Lead me through the grey
Take the blade, take the blade
Show me where to stay
(Where to stay)
When your bones grow tired
And your fire turns thin
I'll join your spirit
Then return again

Bridge
And when your step grows still
And your breath runs out
I will rise with you
No grief, no doubt

We'll stand as one
Where the river bends
Then I'll go back
To wait again

Chorus
Take the blade, take the blade
Lead me through the grey
Take the blade, take the blade
Show me where to stay
(Where to stay)
When your bones grow tired
And your fire turns thin
I'll join your spirit
Then return again
