Basement Pulse

Lyrics

Intro
Lights low
Heart slow
You know
It’s coming

Verse 1
You lean on the wall
Sweat on your neck
Eyes on the floor
I walk through the crowd
Everything small
You wanting more
You say you’re bored of the same old sound
Same old talk
Same safe ground
I brush your hand
Feel that spark
Say
“Hold on tight when it goes dark”

Pre-Chorus
Breath on your cheek
I count to four
You close your eyes
Ask what’s it for
I pull you close
Then let you drop
Right at the edge where the world stops

Chorus
Wait for the drop
Let the floor shake
Baseline strong
Make your bones quake
Head to your chest
Feel your heart race
We go down
Down
Down in this place
Wait for the drop
Let your fear break
Hands in the air for your own sake
When it hits
Let your old self fade
We go down
Down
Down
Unafraid

Verse 2
Your drink on the ledge
You forget it
You forget your name
You move off the edge
Like you’re stepping out of old shame
You laugh too loud
Then bite your lip
Halfway caught in a holy trip
You shout
“Don’t stop
Don’t slow this night”
I say
“One more
Then we lose the light”

Pre-Chorus
Breath on your cheek
I count to four
You close your eyes
Ask what’s it for
I pull you close
Then let you drop
Right at the edge where the world stops

Chorus
Wait for the drop
Let the floor shake
Baseline strong
Make your bones quake
Head to your chest
Feel your heart race
We go down
Down
Down in this place
Wait for the drop
Let your fear break
Hands in the air for your own sake
When it hits
Let your old self fade
We go down
Down
Down
Unafraid

Bridge
[Beat cuts
Only bass pulse]
Count it out
One
Two
Three
Every bad thought
Falls off me
You and I
Right on time
All we are
This thin line (hey!)

Chorus
Wait for the drop
Let the floor shake
Baseline strong
Make your bones quake
Head to your chest
Feel your heart race
We go down
Down
Down in this place
Wait for the drop
Let your fear break
Hands in the air for your own sake
When it hits
Let your old self fade
We go down
Down
Down
Unafraid
