Best Day Yet
by CJ Frei
Lyrics
Verse 1
Didn't win the lottery,
Didn't change the world.
Still got dirt
All on my shirt.
My phone's almost dead,
My voice is almost gone.
If this is what they call ordinary...
They're getting something wrong.
Pre-Chorus
We laughed enough
To lose track of time.
I'd call that
A pretty good sign.
Chorus
Best day yet!
And tomorrow's
Got some competition.
Best day yet!
Didn't need
A perfect definition.
Good friends,
Good songs,
Sunset hanging on.
If this keeps getting better...
We're gonna need
Some bigger words.
Best day yet!
Verse 2
Wrong turn?
Found a better view.
Started raining?
The rainbow showed up too.
Somebody burned
The marshmallows again.
Pretty sure
That's tradition now.
Pre-Chorus
Funny how
The little things
Keep stealing the whole show.
Chorus
Best day yet!
Everybody singing
Like we wrote this together.
Best day yet!
Hands up,
Windows down forever.
Take a picture...
Then put your phone away.
Some memories
Deserve both.
Best day yet!
Bridge
Promise me something...
When life gets busy...
Don't stop making time
For days like this.
Because someday...
You'll realize
These weren't the breaks
From real life.
They were real life.
Final Chorus
Best day yet!
(Crowd joins in)
Whoa-oh...
Best day yet!
Whoa-oh...
Best day yet!
We'll keep chasing sunsets,
Taking wrong turns,
Laughing too loud,
Living on purpose.
And if tomorrow
Gets even better...
We'll just sing it again.
Best day yet!
(Crowd repeating)
"Best day yet!"
"Best day yet!"
"Best day yet!"
Outro
Here's to today...
And every tomorrow
Still waiting
To surprise us.
