Mom Found The Candy Stash
by CJ Frei
Lyrics
(Verse 1)
Mission starts...
House is clear...
Mom's upstairs...
Coast is clear...
Tiptoe down...
Don't make a sound...
Treasure waits...
Where it was found...
Kitchen dark...
Cabinet door...
Heartbeat pounding...
Like before...
Reach my hand...
Slow and fast...
This is gonna...
Be our last...
(Background)
"...Take the chocolate."
"...Leave the wrappers."
"...We've trained for this."
---
(Pre-Chorus)
Almost there...
Almost won...
Nobody knows...
What we've done...
---
(Chorus)
MOM FOUND...
THE CANDY STASH!!
RUN!!
RUN!!
RUN!!
THIS HAPPENED FAST!!
Every gummy...
Every bar...
She's got us...
Right where...
We are!!
---
(Verse 2)
Candy's gone...
Wait... what's this?
Empty shelf...
Something's missed...
Blanket moves...
Behind the chair...
Two eyes glowing...
In the dark...
(Background, whispering)
"...Guys..."
"...Guys..."
"...Don't move."
---
(Everything stops.)
Mom:
"...Looking for something?"
(Beat.)
"...Uh-oh."
---
(Bridge)
She knew...
The whole...
Entire...
Time...
Operation...
Compromised...
No escape...
No disguise...
She was waiting...
In surprise...
(Background)
"...It's a trap!"
"...She set a trap!"
"...Retreat!!"
---
(Breakdown)
GO!!
GO!!
GO!!
GO!!
NO!!
NO!!
NO!!
NO!!
---
(Final Chorus)
MOM FOUND...
THE CANDY STASH!!
Every plan...
Destroyed at last!!
No more cookies...
No more treats...
Only carrots...
NOOOOOOO!!
---
(Outro)
"...Can we at least have one?"
"...No."
"...Half of one?"
"...No."
"...Tomorrow?"
"...Maybe."
"...We'll take it."
(Laughter... fade out.)
