We love the night
Lyrics
INTRO
(Devon - Bass): [Heavy, driving vocal percussion kicks in: Boom-chack, boom-boom-chack]
(Devon): (Deep, resonant tone) Welcome to the dark side of the moon. KBX... let’s get wicked.
(Aiden/Becky/Fiona): [Rhythmic chanting] Night-life. Night-life. Night-life. GO!
[VERSE 1]
(Aiden - Tenor): The sun goes down, the shadows start to creep,
While all the "normals" are falling fast asleep.
(Fiona - Contralto): You feel that shiver? It’s slithering up your spine,
Faster than the blood in your liver, feeling so divine!
(Becky - Mezzo-Soprano): The darkness is growing, it’s hungry and it’s wide,
The light has got no place left for it to hide!
[CHORUS]
(All - Harmony):
Oh, we love the night, yeah we crave the moon,
Vampires and the werewolves howling out a tune!
Ghosts in the corner, dancing in the street,
KBX is dropping that supernatural beat!
(Devon - Bass): (Deep ad-lib) Yeah, we come alive.
(All - Harmony):
The party never stops, keep the rhythm jumping high,
Until the sun comes crashing through the morning sky!
[VERSE 2]
(Devon - Bass):
I see a werewolf, he’s catching the groove,
Got the fangs out, showing how the monsters move.
(Becky - Mezzo-Soprano): A ghostly soprano, she’s haunting the track,
Once the night takes over, there’s no turning back!
(Fiona - Contralto): (Jamaican accent) Me say, the shadow dem a-run, and the shadow dem a-play,
We find our rhythm better when the blue turns to grey!
[BRIDGE]
(Aiden - Tenor): (High, soaring notes)
The moon is our spotlight, the stars are the stage...
(Devon - Bass): (Driving vocal percussion intensifies)
(All): WE. DON’T. NEED. NO. LIGHT.
WE. JUST. NEED. THE. NIGHT.
(Staccato) Slither. Creep. Run. Rise.
Look at the hunger in our eyes!
[VOCAL PERCUSSION BREAK]
(Devon): [Intense, fast-paced beatboxing solo with Aiden adding high-tenor "Oohs" and Becky/Fiona providing rhythmic "Chika-back-chika" textures]
[OUTRO]
(All): The night is where we live! (Night-life!)
The night is what we give! (Night-life!)
(Fiona): Watch the shadows slither...
(Becky): Watch the shadows run...
(Aiden): Don't stop the pumping...
(Devon): (Bass drop) Until we see the sun.
(All): KBX!
Final sharp vocal hit: "HA!"
