Down Under Lockdown

Lyrics

Verse 1
Screens went dark in the heat
A thousand tabs hit the floor
Mates in the lounge went quiet
Like they’d heard a slammed steel door

A boot on the feed at dawn
Red tape on the front gate
Someone pulled the plug too hard
And now the whole room waits

Pre-Chorus
Hands on the desk
Eyes on the wall
One click gone
And that’s the fall

Chorus
Down Under lockdown (down under lockdown)
No more midnight crowd
Down Under lockdown (down under lockdown)
Hear that iron sound

Verse 2
Phones lit up like sirens
In a cheap blue bedroom glow
A bloke just stared at the blank page
Like the ocean lost its flow

The lads all cursed the silence
Then laughed through clenched-up teeth
What’s left when the cheap thrill dies?
Just ash beneath the heat

Pre-Chorus
Hands on the desk
Eyes on the wall
One click gone
And that’s the fall

Chorus
Down Under lockdown (down under lockdown)
No more midnight crowd
Down Under lockdown (down under lockdown)
Hear that iron sound

Bridge
No crown for the kingless
No bait for the blind
The party got its sentence
And left the frame behind

Final Chorus
Down Under lockdown (down under lockdown)
No more midnight crowd
Down Under lockdown (down under lockdown)
Hear that iron sound
Down Under lockdown (down under lockdown)
Bite the blackout down
Down Under lockdown (down under lockdown)
Turn the whole hell down
