A Prayer for My Future Husband

Dear God,

Please help me not become lost in this new love. Teach me how to love deeply without losing the parts of myself You have worked so hard to restore. Guide us both toward a better path, helping us grow in wisdom, patience, understanding, and faith as we walk forward together.

Gift me with the patience to let love unfold in its own time, and the confidence to know my worth before my own fears convince me to sabotage the very blessings I have prayed for. Remind me that I am worthy of a love that does not clip my wings, but gives me the courage to fly alongside the man You have chosen to place in my life.

I pray for him, too, Lord. Give him patience with the parts of me still learning how to feel safe in love. Give him wisdom to lead with steady hands, a gentle heart, and honest intentions. Help him understand that sometimes I may need reassurance, not because I doubt him, but because I am still learning that love can be a safe place to land.

Teach us to communicate rather than assume, to listen rather than turn away, and to reach for one another rather than leave each other in the dark. Let us protect the peace, dignity, and well-being of both our families. May we become partners who build each other up, speak truth with kindness, and face life's hardships as a team.

God, I pray that we never mistake vulnerability for weakness or independence for distance. Let us be strong enough to be gentle, humble enough to admit when we are wrong, and faithful enough to keep choosing what is good for us both.

After all the seasons of survival, I pray for a love that allows us to breathe. A love where we can lay down our burdens, quiet our fears, and finally find peace in one another's presence.

And when my wings begin to tremble, remind me that I do not have to earn love by becoming someone else. Help me trust the woman You are still shaping me to be, and give me the discernment to recognize a love that honors the person You created me to become.

If this man is the blessing You have prepared for me, prepare my heart for him and his heart for me. Lead us toward one another in Your timing, and help us build something that brings peace to our homes, strength to our families, and glory to You.

May our love never ask either of us to disappear so the other can shine. Instead, may we stand side by side, with our feet grounded in faith, our hands held in trust, and our wings free to rise together.
