Yamato Run
by James Vahle
Lyrics
Verse 1
USS Yamato, hull in flame
Dark on dark, they call our name
USS Shangri'la, lock and glide
Cut through ash on the far side
Terran empire on the screen
Gold and iron, cold and mean
They brought the chain, they brought the knife
We brought the fire back to life
Pre-Chorus
Red alert in the bay
All hands brace
Silent gods of metal wake
Now the line must break
Chorus
Yamato strikes
Shangri'la flies
Break their crown
Burn their sky
Yamato strikes
Shangri'la flies
Terran empire
Watch it die
(Yamato strikes)
(Shangri'la flies)
Verse 2
Railguns sing from the belly hard
Starboard sheds a broken scar
Their dreadnought turns, their banners shake
Every shield they build will break
Bridge to bridge, we take the void
Every deck an iron toy
They scream in gold, we answer steel
Two old names, but none can kneel
Pre-Chorus
Red alert in the bay
All hands brace
Silent gods of metal wake
Now the line must break
Chorus
Yamato strikes
Shangri'la flies
Break their crown
Burn their sky
Yamato strikes
Shangri'la flies
Terran empire
Watch it die
(Yamato strikes)
(Shangri'la flies)
Bridge
Hear that quake through the frame
Two great ships, one same aim
If they board us, let them know
We don't bend, we go
Final Chorus
Yamato strikes
Shangri'la flies
Break their crown
Burn their sky
Yamato strikes
Shangri'la flies
Terran empire
Watch it die
Yamato strikes
Shangri'la flies
Raise the black
Take the night
