Make a Birthday Song With Their Name in It
Tell SoundLab AI who the song is for and what makes them them. It writes the lyrics, sings their name in the chorus and produces a full song in the style you pick, in about 30 seconds.
How the Birthday Song Generator Works
Fill in their name, who they are to you and a few things they love, then pick a style and a feel. That becomes your song request. Create a free account and the generator opens with your request filled in: press Generate, and two full versions of the song arrive in about 30 seconds, each with its own melody. Keep the one you like.
The details are what make it theirs. A favourite food, a running joke, the year you met or the thing they always say gives the AI something real to sing about, and it lands better than a generic “happy birthday to you”.
Birthday Song Ideas for Everyone
For mum or dad
A heartfelt acoustic birthday song for Linda, my mum, turning 60. She taught me to drive, grows tomatoes and sings in the car. Sing "Linda" in the chorus.
For your partner
A smooth R&B birthday song for Sam, my boyfriend. Our first date was at a bowling alley and he still can’t bowl. Sing "Sam" in the chorus.
For a best friend
A funny pop-punk birthday song for Priya, my best friend since school. Always late, loves karaoke, best laugh in the room. Sing "Priya" in the chorus.
For a child
An upbeat, simple birthday song for Leo, turning 5. He loves dinosaurs, diggers and jumping in puddles. Sing "Leo" in the chorus.
For a colleague
A cheerful jazz birthday song for Marcus from the office. Makes the best coffee, never misses a deadline. Sing "Marcus" in the chorus.
For a grandparent
A gentle country waltz for Grandma Rose on her 90th birthday. Bakes the best apple pie and tells the best stories. Sing "Rose" in the chorus.

Pick a Style That Suits Them
| For | Styles that work |
|---|---|
| Young children | Simple pop or a singalong with a short, repeated chorus they can learn |
| Milestone birthdays | A big rock anthem or a heartfelt acoustic ballad |
| Friends who can take a joke | A rap roast, pop-punk or a cheesy disco track |
| Parents and grandparents | Country, folk, soul or a jazz standard feel |
| Partners | R&B, a slow acoustic love song or indie pop |
Getting the Name Right
Ask for the name in the chorus, so it's sung more than once. If the singer gets an unusual name wrong, spell it the way it sounds, for example “Neev” for Niamh or “Shiv-awn” for Siobhan, and listen to both versions: one is often closer than the other.
Write the Lyrics Yourself
Want every word to be yours? Switch to Custom mode, write the verses and the chorus, and describe the sound. Our guide to turning lyrics into a song shows how to format them so they sing well.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the birthday song generator free?
Your first song is free. New accounts get 10 free credits, which makes one song, and every song comes back in two versions, so you can pick the better one. No card is needed. More songs cost 10 credits each, and Pro gives you 150 credits a week or 600 a month.
Will the song really say their name?
Yes. Put the name in your request and ask for it in the chorus, and the AI writes it into the lyrics and sings it. If it pronounces the name wrong, spell it the way it sounds and make the song again, or write the lyrics yourself.
How long does it take?
About 30 seconds for two full versions, so you can still make one on the morning of the party.
How do I send the song to them?
Send them the link to the song’s page, where they can play it. You can also turn it into a video with the lyrics on screen using the free music visualizer, in vertical format for WhatsApp, Instagram or TikTok. With Pro you can download the song as an MP3 or WAV.
Is it the Happy Birthday song?
No. SoundLab AI writes a new, original song for the person, with its own melody and lyrics about them, in whatever style you choose.
Can I write the lyrics myself?
Yes. Switch to Custom mode, write or paste your lyrics, and describe the style. The AI sings your words over a full arrangement.
Can I play it at a party?
Yes. Songs you create are yours to use, so play it at the party, in a toast or in a family video. Commercial use, such as using it in an advert or selling it, needs a Pro subscription.
